IT and Technology for Financial Advisory Firms
Solution Driven Technology runs the systems an advisory office depends on, from Microsoft 365 to the network in the wall. Pick a category to see what changes.
Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
You pay for Microsoft 365 and use Outlook, Word and not much else.
SDT administers your firm's Microsoft 365 day to day: user accounts, licenses and security settings, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams. SDT has also built the shared lists and workflows an office runs on.
What changes
- Microsoft 365 runs the office, not just the email.
- The office works from one shared system, not personal spreadsheets and email threads.
- Your compliance team can see who has access to which files.
How it works
- Tracking that lives in personal spreadsheets moves into a SharePoint List, a shared list the whole office sees. Each open item has an owner, a status and a due date. SDT has connected lists to the CRM.
- Requests that live in email threads move into Teams, where everyone can see who has the next step.
- Outlook workflows turn a client request or custodian notice into a tracked task. Power Automate, a Microsoft 365 tool, is one way to move work from one step to the next. SDT has used its flows to connect SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel and Salesforce.
- Working files sit in OneDrive, each person's own file space. Shared files sit in SharePoint. Access follows the firm's policy, not the individual.
- Every solution goes through your firm's compliance review before it goes live. SDT prepares what the reviewer needs. The finished system is documented.
Platforms: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Power Automate, Excel, Office Scripts

A phone number changes in the CRM and stays wrong in the texting platform.
SDT connects your CRM, whether Salesforce, Redtail or SmartOffice, to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, and to your scheduling, texting and marketing platforms. Where two systems have no built-in link, SDT builds one.
What changes
- A change in one place reaches the others. Staff update a client record once.
- A meeting booked through the scheduling tool lands on the client record.
- When your firm adds a platform or changes a vendor, the connections change with it.
How it works
- Before anything is connected, SDT works out where each piece of data starts and which system the others should follow. Client details start in the CRM. A booking starts in the scheduling tool.
- SDT has connected the CRM to Calendly and GReminders, which book meetings and send reminders, and to MyRepChat, which sends texts. Planning and account data from eMoney and Albridge feed your reports.
- Where no ready-made link exists, SDT writes a data feed, a small program that carries data from one system to another. One built example delivers live account data into eMoney.
- Every solution goes through your firm's compliance review before it goes live. SDT prepares what the reviewer needs: what data moves, where it goes and who can see it.
- The person who designs a connection is the person who builds it, and the one you reach afterward.
Platforms: Salesforce, Redtail, SmartOffice, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Calendly, GReminders, MyRepChat, Mailchimp, eMoney, Albridge

The Wi-Fi is fine except in the conference room where you meet clients.
SDT installs networking, Wi-Fi, structured cabling and integrated phone systems. The work is done on site in North New Jersey by SDT's own people.
What changes
- The network, the Wi-Fi and the phones are installed by one team.
- One team to call, not a vendor you then have to manage.
How it works
- Networking and Wi-Fi are installed on site.
- Structured cabling, the network cabling in the walls, is run for the office.
- Power over Ethernet sends power through the network cable, so a device on it needs no separate outlet.
- Software work is done remotely for firms anywhere. On-site IT covers North New Jersey.
Server Cleanup and Consolidation
An old server in a closet still holds files nobody has moved.
Servers cleaned up and consolidated.
- SDT cleans up and consolidates servers.
- What that means for your office is worked out on the call.
Custom Software
A core process runs in a spreadsheet only one person understands.
When no product covers the process, SDT builds the tool. It is built around the systems your firm already runs, and the person who designs it is the person who builds it.
What changes
- The tool the office needs, built for it.
- The process no longer depends on one person's spreadsheet.
How it works
- Internal tools built around one process, including asset trackers.
- Custom data feeds where no connector exists. One built example delivers live account data into eMoney.
- One built example for a business outside advisory: a full contract management system for a catering business.
- For advisory firms, it goes through the firm's compliance review before it goes live.
Platforms: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel, Salesforce, eMoney
Websites and AI Chatbots
The website a marketing vendor built stalled at compliance review.
SDT builds websites for advisors and firms. SDT also builds AI chatbots, programs that answer typed questions on a website. Both go through your firm's compliance review before they go live.
What changes
- A website your firm's compliance can review before it goes live.
- A chatbot that runs only on a platform your firm accepts.
How it works
- SDT builds the website. One advisor website built by SDT was approved by that advisor's compliance team.
- Any AI tool SDT builds runs only on a platform your firm accepts.
- Before either goes live, SDT prepares what your compliance reviewer needs.
Not an advisory firm?
Your business runs on memory and spreadsheets.
SDT works primarily with financial advisory firms. The same people do the work for other businesses, to the same standards, on prepaid block time.
What changes
- We take on other businesses too, on prepaid block time.
- The same people and the same standards as the advisory work.
How it works
- Block time means a set of hours bought in advance.
- SDT runs IT and technology end to end for commercial clients as well as advisory firms.
- One example: a full contract management system built for a catering business.
Bring the one system nobody in the office owns.
On the call, SDT looks at how it is set up today and says what should change. Or start with a CRM and operations audit.
